MATT SCHWADER

Matt Schwader was hired as Assistant Professor of Theatre and Director of Performance Studies at Avila University in July of 2018.

 

The mission of Avila University Theatre is to educate theatre students to work in the professional world. Avila offers a B.F.A. in Theatre with concentrations in Acting, Directing, Musical Theatre, or Design/Technology & Management.

The Department of Theatre has a strong faculty who are committed to professional training coupled with the academic study of theatre. Along with Avila's full-time professors, we partner with many professional theatres in Kansas City and hire working actors, directors and technical theatre designers and technicians to teach and/or direct shows. Our unique partnership with Kansas City’s Theatre for Young America allows our students to get professional stage time and design/technical experience before they graduate.
